noun and adverbial phrases

A noun phrase

A noun phrase helps you understand how the thing looks and which one it is.  Let’s say your describing a cat and your sentence is: His cat is on the bird bath.  ‘His cat’ would be the noun phrase!

An adverbial phrase

An adverbial phrase is a small group of words which describe where and when something happened.  Like: I sat on the bed.  ‘On the’ would be the adverbial phrase!
